The
Cooperative Extension Service is a program designed
to deliver technical information to farmers and
other citizens in order to improve efficiencies,
protect natural resources, and improve the quality
of life for citizens. It is called the "Cooperative
Extension Service" because it is a cooperative
effort of federal, state, and local governments.
The
Cooperative Extension Service has gained a reputation
as an unbiased source of information, and is seen
by many as the best resource for technology transfer.
This is due to involvement at all levels and because
the service's information source is the land-grant
