In
1918, H.H. Tift helped create the Coastal Plain Experiment Station.
The station's mission was to conduct agricultural research tailored
to the plain's sandy soils, hot weather and long growing season. The
station has grown into a University of Georgia campus. The campus
provides agricultural and environmental research, outreach and instruction
for innovative farming, economic development, youth and family programs,
and natural resources protection. The Tifton Campus offers a rich mix
of research, extension and instruction programs. |
