The station's mission was to conduct agricultural research tailored to the plain's sandy soils, hot weather and long growing season. The station has grown into a University of Georgia campus. The campus provides agricultural and environmental research, outreach and instruction for innovative farming, economic development, youth and family programs, and natural resources protection.The Tifton Campus offers a rich mix of research, extension and instruction programs.
